..i did have a good seat when watching this event, too bad there was a big head blocking the view, so i just stood at the back of the crowd and snapped away.. i was lucky enough to get some eye contact from some of the dancers..

The Cort Theatre is a legitimate Broadway theatre located at 138 West 48th Street in midtown-Manhattan. The Shubert Organization purchased the theatre in 1927, two years before Cort’s death. (more)

..i’ve been doing a lot of housekeeping and noticed a bunch of photos rotting on my hard drive.. so i’m unloading them on to my flickr account for others to gawk at.. some of them that i find cool enough would end up here.. like this one.. there must be some reason behind the scary demon masks they wore at the puerto rican parade..

Vejigantes or paper mache masks worn during the carnival are the islandâ€™s most popular craft. Tangles of menacing horns, fang-toothed leering expression, and bulging eyes of these half-demon, half-animal creations makes these masks frightening, particularly at nighttime. During carnival time, masked revelers roam the streets in their bat-winged costumes either individually or in groups. (more)

..a great place for lunch breaks..

The park on East 47th Street between Second and First Avenues, just north of the United Nations, was acquired by the City of New York in 1948 and named Dag HammarskjÃ¶ld Plaza in 1961. For many years it has served as a popular gathering place for public demonstrations. The Friends of Dag HammarskjÃ¶ld Plaza was formed to raise funds, to organize special events, and to keep the park green and clean. (more)
