The Old Courthouse (officially called the Old St. Louis County Courthouse) was a combination federal and state courthouse in St. Louis, Missouri that was Missouri’s tallest habitable building from 1864 to 1894 and now is part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial.

..took this while i was down by Crescent Bay in Laguna Beach.. there was a spot that looked very, very promising, but before reaching that, i had to traverse through the beach, and up some slippery rocks with some waves crashing up because of high tide while wearing flip flops and lugging several pounds of gear.. well, that didn’t end well, i ended up missing a step and slipped.. my cam was spared, but my shin & knee wasn’t.. at least i got some good ones.. lol.. i’ll try returning for some more shots later..
..the end of the week, a finish line spent at the beach..
..if you take a look at the upper right frame of yesterday’s post, you’d notice that this is how it looks like up close..
..this was where i was stalking the humming bird i shot a few posts back..
…
..the good thing with being the driver on a road trip is that you get to choose when and where to stop.. well, since i was the driver, i get to do that.. and that’s exactly what i did.. that’s why it took us almost a week to get to San Francisco and back.. here’s one of the first stops, somewhere around the Gaviota State Park..
McWay Falls is an 80 foot waterfall located in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park that flows year-round. Like Alamere Falls, this waterfall is one of only two in the region that are close enough to the ocean to be referred as “tidefalls”. It is located on McWay Creek.Although it can be viewed via a trail from above, the beach and scenic cove below is difficult to access by land, however, it could be easily reached by boat. Even with this possibility, it is not recommended that people visit the beach as a safety precaution due to crumbling cliffs and environmental reasons.
..a small stream flowing through this lush foliage in garrapata beach..
..in bryce canyon..
..a fork on our way to Bryce..
..’twas a bit dark so i just dragged the shutter for this one..
Bryce Canyon National Park is a national park located in southwestern Utah in the United States. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon which, despite its name, is not actually a canyon but a giant natural amphitheater created by erosion along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by wind, water and ice erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular vistas for park visitors. Bryce is at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m).
..title sucks, oh well..
..odd name for a post, eh? well, the place where i shot this was (as i found out eventually) a nudist beach.. lolz..
..skies should be like this every weekend..
..can you guess where this was taken?
..the other side of this place..
..in shooting tourist traps, when you don’t want people to clutter your shot, you usually do one of these:
- wake up late / early and shoot when no one’s there
- shoot a bunch of shots and do some “magic” in photoshop
- painstakingly clone them out one by one
..in this case, i just left the scene alone and pressed the shutter..
